Mohamud, aged 24, is a resident of Warta Nabada district. He is married and has two children. He works as a Bajaj driver to support his family and pursues part-time studies on Thursdays and Fridays.
Around three months ago, while dropping off a customer at their residence, Mohamud was unexpectedly ambushed by eight men armed with knives and machetes. These assailants aimed to steal his Bajaj. Mohamud defended himself but sustained severe injuries to his legs and stomach. During the altercation, the attackers also forcibly took his phone and Bajaj’s keys. He was left wounded, but he was lucky that a few people came to his rescue and rushed him to the hospital for medical treatment.
After receiving necessary medical care, Mohamud’s physical condition has greatly improved. However, he still fears for his life and cannot work freely since justice has not been served and those responsible for the attack are yet to be held accountable. He said, “I can’t work freely because there is no peace and justice in the country.”
Looking ahead, Mohamud holds onto the hope that the government will actively address the existing security issues within the country. He hopes for an environment characterized by safety and fairness, where individuals can freely live and work without fearing violence or injustice.
